This year we are creating a Forum for Sharing Knowledge around contemporary art practices. Celebrated British art critic, author, broadcaster and artist Matthew Collings will lead this three day interactive seminar which will be moderated by Chinese curator Maya Koskaya, All sessions will be held in a state-of-the-art amphitheater style classroom at Taj Lands End.

The forum is geared to fostering new dialogue and discussion around art making, display and collecting. In an open and candid format, we will address not only the joys of creating, owning and living with contemporary art but also some of challenges and roadblocks. Matthew Collings will address global trends in contemporary art practices in a manner that promises to be incisive, educative and thought provoking.

In keeping with the spirit of learning and sharing, the small audience of around eighty will comprise some of the most respected personalities from the art world including fellow collectors, artists, curators as well as key people from the field of architecture and design.

The Mumbai Gallery Weekend is an initiative in its second year and is scheduled to take place from the evening of April 5th to the afternoon of April 7th, 2013. Year one saw the city’s finest galleries come together in order to showcase the best of their programs in one location.
